At the time, the team\u2019s official timekeeper was <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Heuer<\/span><\/span>. Inspired by this victory, the brand decided to develop a special regatta watch:<strong> the Heuer Skipper Ref. 7754<\/strong>, which was introduced in 1968.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">This watch, often referred to as the \u201c<strong>Skipperera<\/strong>,\u201d is now considered the rarest and most sought-after of all Skipper models. Less then 20 examples are known to still exist. The nickname \u201cSkipperera\u201d arose because it is the only Skipper model ever produced in an original 36-mm Heuer Carrera case. Its metallic blue main dial was inspired by the color of the sea. The design is complemented by a mint-green subdial precisely matched to the color of the deck of the Intrepid\u2014indeed, the designers reportedly took a small piece of the deck coating to reproduce the shade as accurately as possible.
